Are your sewer pipes backing up from root infestation, or from missing pipe floors or broken sewer pipes? Are your apartment roof rain leader drains leaking into walls of condominiums? Modern pipe lining installs a new pipe inside of the old pipe. It only takes 3 hours, has a 50 year warranty and is as strong as repiping with new pipe. The internal diameter is only reduced by 5%. We only need one entry point to install the new pipe liner, usually from a rooftop or a small access hole dug outside the building. Compared to old-fashioned excavation, this new inner pipe is cheaper, faster and cleaner. Click Pipe Lining to learn more.

Jackson has thousands of miles of deteriorating potable water pipe infrastructure which is especially prone to pinhole leaks in corroded or damaged pipes creating slab leaks. Leaking copper and galvanized pipes cause water damage and lead leaching into drinking water. Large and small diameter epoxy pipe rehabilitation coats the inside of any pipes with EPA approved food-grade epoxy which permanently seals all leaks. The epoxy coating is applied in varying thicknesses, depending on if it is used in oil refineries, hospitals, hotels, home, factories, aircraft carriers, water pipelines and apartment high-rises. Click Epoxy Pipe Lining to learn more.

In some circumstances, pipes cannot be lined so “pipe bursting” is used, which involves the physical destruction and outward displacement of the old pipe followed simultaneously by the installation of a new pipe with the same or wider diameter inside the newly created void. In other cases, a new pipe can simply be pulled into the old pipe (“slip lining”), thereby reducing the internal diameter somewhat. Click Pipe Bursting / Slip Lining to learn more.

  1. Speed: cured in place pipe lining takes hours not weeks
  2. Cost: since no walls, basements, floors, driveways and landscaping is destroyed, trenchless pipe repair is cheaper than digging and replacing pipe
  3. Cleanliness: No pipe repair excavation mess inside apartments, factories, hospitals and commercial buildings
  4. No downtime costs: restaurant pipe rehab and CIPP in other commercial facilities allows the continued operation and no economic loss

Our San Francisco CA trenchless pipe lining company is the only Californian pipe replacement contractor that offers a complete array of pipe rehabilitation techniques for residential, commercial, city and industrial applications. Hospitals for example will use Cured-In-Place pipe (CIPP) to rehabilitate their vertical leaking rain drain stacks and leaking sewage pipes, and high-rise apartments would use our epoxy pipe lining process to stop pinhole leaks and slab leaks in their copper water pipes. Cities use our sectional repairs to stop root infiltration at separated clay pipe joints and they use our manhole rehabilitation techniques to stop water infiltration and water exfiltration.

Our modern pipe lining techniques allow the trenchless pipe restoration of broken pipes or cracked sewer pipes without excavating floors, walls, driveways, foundations, basements and concrete slabs. This no-dig method of pipe repair is cleaner, cheaper and faster than excavation and repiping of damaged plumbing in San Francisco.

Our Permaliner pipe liners have a 100-year life expectancy and come with a 50-year warranty. The pipe liners are installed from one access point, like a rooftop or from an outside cleanout so that there is no invasion of living space or workspace. Although underground pipe lining has been around for over 35 years, small diameter CIPP pipe lining was pioneered by Perma-Liner manufacturing. We are an experienced certified Perma-Liner installer and contractor with extensive experience in high-rise apartment CIPP trenchless pipe replacement, sewer main line lining, industrial pipelining, manhole liners and manhole epoxy lining and residential sewer lateral lining in San Francisco CA.

The Pipe Lining Installation Process

  1. The pipe lining contractor uses a water jetter or mechanical pipe cleaning brushes, remove all scale and corrosion deposits causing drain pipe backups in your broken underground sewer pipes
  2. Then the Californian pipe lining company uses a video camera to inspect the sewer plumbing pipes and gets a distance measurement for the trenchless underground pipelining
  3. The pipe liner is cut to length and 100% epoxy resin is mixed and used to saturate the pipe sleeve thoroughly
  4. The new liner is installed and allowed to harden under air pressure against the walls of the broken leaking pipe
  5. After 3 hours the new pipe liner has formed a new pipe inside the old pipe and the trenchless pipe process is complete

Recent Project in San Francisco: Vertical Sewer Pipe Restoration- Office Building On Van Ness Ave.

  • Symptoms – PVC Sewer pipes leaking into walls
  • Diagnosis – Video inspection showed PVC joints were never glued during construction
  • Where – Van Ness Ave., downtown San Francisco

Our sewer pipe repair dispatch received an urgent call from the repair plumbing maintenance supervisor at an office tower that was experiencing leaking sewer drain pipes in walls. The building was rehabilitated recently and all the old plumbing pipes had undergone repiping with PVC, so there should have been no sewage pipe leaks in the walls.

Our San Francisco pipe video investigation unit was hired to determine the source of plumbing leaks in the PVC pipes. To their dismay, they could see no purple primer inside the sewer PVC pipes, indicating that the pipes were likely never glued or the plumbers had not primed the fittings before gluing, both of which could lead to plumbing leaks in walls. In addition, the San Francisco plumbing contractor who did the work could not be reached for pipe warranty work.

Our trenchless pipe rehabilitation crew was hired to reline the drain pipes from the rooftop, using the air installation method from Perma-Liner Industries. This pipe lining method only required one access point, from the rooftop stacks, to install the pipe liner. Once the trenchless pipe rehabilitation was complete, a robotic cutter was sent down each roof drain pipe to open pipe connections that were covered by the pipe lining process. Finally all the water was run in each office bathroom on each floor to ensure there were no sewer backups or leaking sewer pipes in the walls. Best of all, only one bathroom per floor was out of service for 6 hours, so that normal office activities could continue during drain pipe rehabilitation.

Recent Project on Great Hwy: Underground Pipe Lining at Popular Pub

  • Symptoms – toilet pipe clogged, repeated flooding spilling sewage
  • Diagnosis – broken clay lateral sewer pipe under walkway next to road
  • Where – Popular pub on Great Hwy, San Francisco

We received an urgent request to repair a drain pipe in San Francisco at a popular pub. Video inspection showed a broken clay lateral sewer pipe leading from the pub to the sewer main line under the road. A locating device was used to find the precise area for digging to repair the sewer pipe, but the area was right next to the road, under a busy walkway. Excavation for pipe replacement was not an option.

Instead our pipe liner crew installed a new sectional pipe lining from the cleanout located just outside the building. Sectional pipe lining involves relining just a small section of missing, cracked or broken pipe, and is usually used to rehabilitate clay (VCP) pipe which is generally in great condition, except for a few small broken sections of sewer pipe. For the pub it was the fastest, least expensive and least messy option of sewer lateral pipe replacement as the pipe lining installation only took 4 hours of cure time.
