The Pipe Lining Installation Process

The pipe lining contractor uses a water jetter or mechanical pipe cleaning brushes, remove all scale and corrosion deposits causing drain pipe backups in your broken underground sewer pipes
Then the Floridan pipe lining company uses a video camera to inspect the sewer plumbing pipes and gets a distance measurement for the trenchless underground pipelining
The pipe liner is cut to length and 100% epoxy resin is mixed and used to saturate the pipe sleeve thoroughly
The new liner is installed and allowed to harden under air pressure against the walls of the broken leaking pipe
After 3 hours the new pipe liner has formed a new pipe inside the old pipe and the trenchless pipe process is complete

Recent Project in Tampa: Sewer Drain Pipe Lining Under Gas Station, 3650 S Dale Mabry Hwy

Symptoms – toilets blocked frequently
Diagnosis – broken iron drain pipes under driving area at gas pump

Our dispatch received a call from a distraught gas station owner, the bathrooms drains were backing up all the time and a plumbing company made a sewer pipe video inspection and found a broken and collapsing sewer lateral underneath a gas pump. Excavation to repair the broken sewer pipe would have required permitting and inspections and digging to replace pipe would be dangerous in that area. Also, the drain pipe repairs would take approximately 3 days, given that the slab leak pipe break was under an 8” thick concrete slab that would have to be replaced.

Our trenchless pipe rehabilitation crew was hired to repair the broken pipe using Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP). The customer could not afford to reline the entire 75’ of sewer lateral going to the sewer main line, so they chose to only reline the pipe where the break was. The pipe lining crew cleaned the broken pipe, removing all pieces of cast iron with a high pressure water jetting truck. Then the toilet was removed inside the bathroom, and from there a short 6’ section of pipe liner (“sectional repair” or “sectional pipe lining” or “point repair”) was installed in the area where the broken and missing pipe was, overlapping each side of the broken sewer pipe by 2’.

After 3 hours the new sewer pipe liner had cured in place and a post video inspection confirmed that the broken pipe was completely bridged by the new pipelining. The sewer drain pipe replacement was done without stopping gas pump service and without any trenching.

A property manager called late one Sunday evening: the toilets, tubs and showers in bottom floor apartments were flooding with sewage when upstairs apartments showered, flushed or washed dishes. At first we assumed they had broken pipes, cracked pipes, or severely damaged sewer pipes, but pipe video inspection showed that the clay sewer pipe under the parking lot had separated pipe joints and roots were growing into the pipes for water, causing drain backups.

We accessed the blocked sewer pipe through a cleanout near the building, from which we cleaned the root damaged pipe. Then we installed a new pipe liner along the entire length of clay VCP pipe. After 3 hours of cure time, the epoxy resin in the new pipe liner walls was hardened and the sewer pipe repair was complete. The joint less (jointless) new inner pipe will prevent root intrusion, corrosion of iron pipes, bridge missing pipe, and can be installed around, 22s, 45s and even 90s. This was the most basic type of pipeline rehabilitation we perform and is used for cities, governments, swimming pool owners, property managers, restaurant owners, motels owners, municipalities, apartments and other property owners.
