PIPE BURSTING & SLIP LINING:

In some circumstances, pipes cannot be lined so “pipe bursting” is used, which involves the physical destruction and outward displacement of the old pipe followed simultaneously by the installation of a new pipe with the same or wider diameter inside the newly created void. THE STRUCTURAL PIPE LINING INSTALLATION PROCESS

1. The pipe lining contractor uses a water jetter or mechanical pipe cleaning brushes to remove all scale and corrosion deposits causing drain pipe backups in your broken underground or vertical sewer pipes
2. Then the pipe lining company uses a video camera to inspect the sewer plumbing pipes and gets a distance measurement for the trenchless underground pipelining
3. The pipe liner is cut to the correct length and 100% epoxy resin is mixed and used to saturate the pipe sleeve thoroughly

SO HOW IS SEWER PIPE RELINING INSTALLED IN SAY A FACTORY?

First of all the drain pipe is inspected with a sewer pipe video inspection camera. This usually has occurred once before when the plumbing company first diagnosed that you need sewage pipe relining. The pipes may have to be “jetted” first if the pipes have too much debris on the walls and floors for sewage pipe relining. The length of sewage pipe relining to be lined is precisely marked on the video cable going into the pipe so that the measurement can be used to cut the correct length of pipe lining tube material.

Then the “liner” is wet out with a precise amount of epoxy resin that hardens by itself and the liner is loaded into an “air gun” which shoots the liner into the pipe. Next a very long balloon of sorts is also shot into the inside of the liner to push it against the wall of the pipe and left inflated during the 3 hour epoxy cure time. The balloon is pulled out after the liner is cured and the new sewage pipe relining is video inspected. Sometimes a robotic cutter will be sent into the relined pipe to cut open any connections with other pipes that were covered up during the pipelining.

So how is drain pipelining installed in a ~Pipliner2 ? – for Sewer Pipe Lining And Potable Water Epoxy Pipe Restoration Company

There was probably an initial pipe video inspection done by a plumbing company that figured out what what was wrong with your pipe. A similar video inspection is done to measure exactly how long the required drain pipelining is. Sometimes the pipes in the home pipes have to be “jetted” before the camera work because they are so badly corroded or have so much scale and debris buildup. To get an exact measurement of the drain pipelining distance a piece of duct tape is used to mark the video cable. That distance is transferred to the flexible fabric “liner” which will be used for drain pipelining . Then the pipe lining flexible fabric tube (or liner) that looks like a long sock with the ends cut off is completely saturated with a self-hardening epoxy resin. The liner is then loaded into a large air gun that shoots it into the pipe. That is followed by shooting a very long baloon inside of the liner that holds the liner against the wall of the pipe while the epoxy resin hardens in about 3 hours. The balloon is pulled out after the liner is cured and the new drain pipelining is video inspected. Sometimes a robotic cutter will be sent into the relined pipe to cut open any connections with other pipes that were covered up during the pipelining. Our sewer pipe repair dispatch received an urgent call from a homeowner looking for pipe lining companies in Indianapolis . The homeowner was experiencing a persistent foul sewer odor in their house had become really pungent during the winter months. Our sewer pipe video investigation showed cast iron drain pipes that were cracked along their length. During cold winter months, warm sewage fumes were being forced through these cracks in pipes upwards into the house by cold winter air flowing into sewage manholes.

Plumbers wanted dig and replace all the iron sewer pipes under the house, which would have been very expensive, messy, and the homeowner would have to vacate for 2 weeks. High Rise Sewer Lateral Rehabilitation on E Maryland St.

• Symptoms – bottom floor units flooding when upstairs units flush toilets
• Diagnosis – separated clay pipe joints with root growth under parking lot

A property manager called late one Sunday evening: the toilets, tubs and showers in bottom floor apartments were flooding with sewage when upstairs apartments showered, flushed or washed dishes. At first we assumed they had broken pipes, cracked pipes, or severely damaged sewer pipes, but pipe video inspection showed that the clay sewer pipe under the parking lot had separated pipe joints and roots were growing into the pipes for water, causing drain backups.

We accessed the blocked sewer pipe through a cleanout near the building, from which we cleaned the root damaged pipe. Then we installed a new pipe liner along the entire length of clay VCP pipe. After 3 hours of cure time, the epoxy resin in the new pipe liner walls was hardened and the sewer pipe repair was complete. The joint less (jointless) new inner pipe will prevent root intrusion, corrosion of iron pipes, bridge missing pipe, and can be installed around, 22s, 45s and even 90s. This was the most basic type of pipeline rehabilitation we perform and is used for cities, governments, swimming pool owners, property managers, restaurant owners, motels owners, municipalities, apartments and other property owners.

The Pipe Lining Process

1. The pipe lining contractor uses a water jetter or mechanical pipe cleaning brushes, remove all scale and corrosion deposits causing drain pipe backups in your broken underground sewer pipes
2. Then the pipe lining company uses a video camera to inspect the sewer plumbing pipes and gets a distance measurement for the trenchless underground pipelining

4. The new liner is installed and the epoxy resin saturated pipe liner is allowed to harden under air pressure against the walls of the broken leaking pipe that needs replacement
5. After 3 hours the new pipe liner has formed a new inner pipe inside the old pipe and the trenchless pipe process is complete

We received an emergency call from the manager of a bank clearing operation in a large office complex. They informed us that they had leaking roof drains when it rained and needed a pipe repaired or replaced quickly. We arrived on location and performed a full video inspection. So how is drain pipelining installed in a ~Pipliner2 ? – for Trenchless Pipe Lining Company & Sewer & Potable Pipe Relining

First of all the drain pipe is inspected with a sewer pipe video inspection camera. This usually has occurred once before when the plumbing company first diagnosed that you need drain pipelining . The pipes may have to be “jetted” first if the pipes have too much debris on the walls and floors for drain pipelining . The length of drain pipelining to be lined is precisely marked on the video cable going into the pipe so that the measurement can be used to cut the correct length of pipe lining tube material. Then the pipe lining flexible fabric tube (or liner) that looks like a long sock with the ends cut off is completely saturated with a self-hardening epoxy resin. The liner is then loaded into a large air gun that shoots it into the pipe. That is followed by shooting a very long baloon inside of the liner that holds the liner against the wall of the pipe while the epoxy resin hardens in about 3 hours. When it is determined the liner is “cured” the baloon is withdrawn and the new drain pipelining is video inspected to ensure the drain pipelining succeeded. Sometimes a robotic cutter will be sent into the relined pipe to cut open any connections with other pipes that were covered up during the pipelining. Problem: Pinhole leaks in copper water supply lines in house foundation

Diagnosis: Copper drinking supply lines corroded and leaking from corrosion caused by chlorine and oxygen in water

In January 2008 Craftsman Pipe Lining was contacted by a distraught homeowner who had just remodeled their entire home with matching expensive wooden flooring. A slab leak was damaging the wood and the customer needed a long term pipe restoration solution that would not displace his entire family again for weeks. Our epoxy pipe coating team was dispatched to the home where they isolated sections of the potable water supply lines and epoxy coated them. The process consisted of sand blasting the interior of the corroded pipes, then air drying them and applying a self hardening mixture of 100% food grade EPA approved epoxy using high speed forced air from large compressors.

The process required that some of the valves and connections had to be replaced, but that was the invasiveness of the system and did not affect the flooring at all. The entire process took 5 days and did not displace the family (excavation would have taken 2-3 weeks and would have required the family to relocate during the pipe replacement process.)

Problem: Offsett joints in drainage pipe causing infiltration of water into elevator shaft collection pit

Diagnosis: Poorly fused joints in HDPE pipe was allowing water to seep into the pipe

Craftsman was contacted by the maintenance department of the General Mitchell airport about a serious problem. The pipe that drains hydraulic fluids, oils and other liquids from the bottom of an elevator shaft into a collection pit was experiencing water infiltration during rain showers. The sump pump in the pit was not able to keep up with the rate of infiltration causing the pit to overflow and filling the elevator shaft with water, which was an electrical hazard. Excavating the pipe for replacement was out of the question as it was located 16’ beneath the floor of a busy walkway to a terminal.

Instead Craftsman Pipe Lining video inspected the pipeline and measured the length of the pipe liner to be installed. The appropriate amount of expoxy resin was then mixed and used to completely saturate the liner, which was then rolled into a pressurized tank called an “inverter” which uses air pressure to “shoot the length of pipe liner down the broken leaking pipe that needs repair. After 6 hours of cure time, the pipe lining process was complete and the new pipe had an engineered life of 100 years. Normal cure times for these pipe linings are around 3 hours, but since the pipe was filled with water that cooled the hardening resin, additional cure time was allowed for safety.
