So how is CIPP pipe lining installed in a factory – Sewage Pipe Lining Company & Fire Hydrant and Potable Pipe Relining?

First of all the drain pipe is inspected with a sewer pipe video inspection camera. This usually has occurred once before when the plumbing company first diagnosed that you need CIPP pipe lining. The pipes may have to be “jetted” first if the pipes have too much debris on the walls and floors for CIPP pipe lining. The length of CIPP pipe lining to be lined is precisely marked on the video cable going into the pipe so that the measurement can be used to cut the correct length of pipe lining tube material. Then the pipe lining flexible fabric tube (or liner) that looks like a long sock with the ends cut off is completely saturated with a self-hardening epoxy resin. The liner is then loaded into a large air gun that shoots it into the pipe. Next a very long baloon of sorts is also shot into the inside of the liner to push it against the wall of the pipe and left inflated during the 3 hour epoxy cure time. When it is determined the liner is “cured” the baloon is withdrawn and the new CIPP pipe lining is video inspected to ensure the CIPP pipe lining succeeded. Sometimes a robotic cutter will be sent into the relined pipe to cut open any connections with other pipes that were covered up during the pipelining. To get an exact measurement of the trenchless pipe lining distance a piece of duct tape is used to mark the video cable. That distance is transferred to the flexible fabric “liner” which will be used for trenchless pipe lining. Then the pipe lining flexible fabric tube (or liner) that looks like a long sock with the ends cut off is completely saturated with a self-hardening epoxy resin. The liner is then loaded into a large air gun that shoots it into the pipe. Next a very long baloon of sorts is also shot into the inside of the liner to push it against the wall of the pipe and left inflated during the 3 hour epoxy cure time. There are many pipe restoration techniques available today like Sewer and Potable Trenchless Pipe Lining Company & Epoxy and Cured In Place PipeLining. Do you need drain pipelining ? If your high rise sewer pipes backing up from root infestation or from missing pipe floors or broken sewer pipes then you need Cured-In-Place-Pipe lining or CIPP. CIPP is also used if your condominium vertical sewer drains or rain leaders are leaking into walls and floors causing severe property damage. CIPP replaces your pipes by installing a new physical pipe inside the defective pipe and only shrinks the inner diameter by 5.25% and comes with a 50-year warranty. Installation only takes around four hours so there is very little time that the pipe cannot be used. Structural Pipe Lining Installation Process

1. The pipe lining contractor uses a water jetter or mechanical pipe cleaning brushes to remove all scale and corrosion deposits causing drain pipe backups in your broken vertical or underground sewer pipes

2. Then the pipe lining company uses a video camera to inspect the sewer plumbing pipes and gets a distance measurement for the trenchless pipelining

3. The pipe liner is cut to length and 100% epoxy resin is mixed and used to saturate the pipe sleeve thoroughly

4. The new liner is installed and the epoxy resin saturated pipe liner is allowed to harden under air pressure against the walls of the broken leaking pipe that needs replacement

5. After 3 hours the new pipe liner has formed a new inner pipe inside the old pipe and the trenchless pipelining process is complete

Featured Project: Epoxy Pipe Lining of Potable Water Lines In Residential Property

Problem: Pinhole leaks in copper water supply lines in house foundation

Diagnosis: Copper drinking supply lines corroded and leaking from corrosion caused by chlorine and oxygen in water

In January 2008 Craftsman Pipe Lining was contacted by a distraught homeowner who had just remodeled their entire home with matching expensive wooden flooring. A slab leak was damaging the wood and the customer needed a long term pipe restoration solution that would not displace his entire family again for weeks. Our epoxy pipe coating team was dispatched to the home where they isolated sections of the potable water supply lines and epoxy coated them. The process consisted of sand blasting the interior of the corroded pipes, then air drying them and applying a self hardening mixture of 100% food grade EPA approved epoxy using high speed forced air from large compressors.

The process required that some of the valves and connections had to be replaced, but that was the invasiveness of the system and did not affect the flooring at all. The entire process took 5 days and did not displace the family (excavation would have taken 2-3 weeks and would have required the family to relocate during the pipe replacement process.)

Recent Project in Wisconsin: Pipe Lining of 3” Elevator Shaft Collection Pit Pipe At Airport

Location: General Mitchell International Airport • 5300 South Howell Ave. • Milwaukee, WI 53207.

Problem: Offsett joints in drainage pipe causing infiltration of water into elevator shaft collection pit

Diagnosis: Poorly fused joints in HDPE pipe was allowing water to seep into the pipe

Craftsman was contacted by the maintenance department of the General Mitchell airport about a serious problem. The pipe that drains hydraulic fluids, oils and other liquids from the bottom of an elevator shaft into a collection pit was experiencing water infiltration during rain showers. The sump pump in the pit was not able to keep up with the rate of infiltration causing the pit to overflow and filling the elevator shaft with water, which was an electrical hazard. Excavating the pipe for replacement was out of the question as it was located 16’ beneath the floor of a busy walkway to a terminal.

Instead Craftsman Pipe Lining video inspected the pipeline and measured the length of the pipe liner to be installed. The appropriate amount of expoxy resin was then mixed and used to completely saturate the liner, which was then rolled into a pressurized tank called an “inverter” which uses air pressure to “shoot the length of pipe liner down the broken leaking pipe that needs repair. After 6 hours of cure time, the pipe lining process was complete and the new pipe had an engineered life of 100 years. Normal cure times for these pipe linings are around 3 hours, but since the pipe was filled with water that cooled the hardening resin, additional cure time was allowed for safety.

So how is CIPP pipe lining installed in a ~Pipliner2 ? – for Drain Pipe Lining & Potable Epoxy Pipelining Company & Trenchless Pipe Replacement

There was probably an initial pipe video inspection done by a plumbing company that figured out what what was wrong with your pipe. A similar video inspection is done to measure exactly how long the required CIPP pipe lining is. The pipes may have to be “jetted” first if the pipes have too much debris on the walls and floors for CIPP pipe lining. The length of CIPP pipe lining to be lined is precisely marked on the video cable going into the pipe so that the measurement can be used to cut the correct length of pipe lining tube material. Then the pipe lining flexible fabric tube (or liner) that looks like a long sock with the ends cut off is completely saturated with a self-hardening epoxy resin. The liner is then loaded into a large air gun that shoots it into the pipe. That is followed by shooting a very long baloon inside of the liner that holds the liner against the wall of the pipe while the epoxy resin hardens in about 3 hours. When it is determined the liner is “cured” the baloon is withdrawn and the new CIPP pipe lining is video inspected to ensure the CIPP pipe lining succeeded. Sometimes a robotic cutter will be sent into the relined pipe to cut open any connections with other pipes that were covered up during the pipelining.
